Encyon coordinates Skärgårdskraft

Encyon is the coordinator of Skärgårdskraft, a collaborative project developing portable battery solutions and business models for contracting work in the Swedish archipelago and weak-grid areas. It runs together with ABC and Damax, funded by Vinnova.

Work on islands and coastal sites largely runs on diesel generators today, because the grid connection is weak or absent. The battery solutions on the market are built for large construction sites; they weigh several tonnes and need a lorry. The size class an archipelago contractor actually needs has no established suppliers.

Encyon is responsible for the digital platform, business model development and customer validation. The project runs until June 2028.
